Rights

1. My right is the right to privacy.

2. The rights of privacy exist because of many reasons. For the 3rd amendment it mainly exist because when America was a British Colony the British quartered soldiers and the new America didn't want to be anything like the British. The 4th amendment of privacy was because of the public compliant against officials that were able to go through any one's belongings. The rights of privacy mainly exist because of the public complaint against not having privacy.

3. The rights of privacy are protected under the United States Constitution through its many amendments. The 3rd Amendment allows the privacy of one's house against quartering soldiers. The 4th Amendment protects the privacy of one's belongings against unreasonable searches. A cop would not be able to search your house without a warrant. the 5th amendment protects against the taking of private property for public use. With these amendments, I basically have the right to protect my personal belonging and property.

4. The right of privacy has a big limitation involving the government. The government is allowed to seize your private belonging with reason. They can also listen to your phone calls and look at your private information. If the authorities have a reason or a warrant they are able to go through all your personal belongings.

5. These limitations against privacy exist because of the terrorism in America. They also exist so that a person cannot be in possession of illegal things such as drugs.

6. If I had to give up the right of privacy I would want an increase in power of all my other rights. I would want all my other rights to have no limitations. Although there isn't one big law that gives the right of privacy it is still an important right to lose. Without this right the army could have soldiers in public resident's houses, and officials could search your belongings when ever they would want to. The increase in power of all the other rights such as freedom of speech and press would be the only thing that could compensate losing the right of privacy.

Reflection Post Questions

1. From this project I learned more about the D-Day invasion. I learned little interesting facts such as the death rate of allied soldiers, and the different beach locations of the invasion. I also learned what the allied soldiers went through as they stormed the beach.
2. My research question was "What kind of defense did the American soldiers face when they first stepped on the beaches of Normandy during D-Day?"
3. The soldiers faced a heavy artillery defense on the shores. Most soldiers did not even make it to shore because they would be shot in the waters. The Germans were set up on hillsides over looking the beach so they had excellent vision on the enemy. They also had trenches and small forts with machine guns and anti aircraft guns. I don't know how the allies overtook the beach while they faced a strong defense but they prevailed in the end.
4.Yes, my final project answered my research question.
5. My final project answered the research question by showing a visual model of the battle scene. It showed how the Germans were set up on a hillside with trenches. It also showed the allies getting off the boats on the beach. With a model a person can visually see how the Germans had heavy defense on the invading U.S. troops.
6. We did well on making the model look like the actual battle scene. The people that saw our model commented how real our model looked compared to the real D-Day.
7. We could have improved on the timing for this project. Due to the fact that we kept switching the idea for the final product we had little time to make it.
8. I would have changed the materials we used to make the hill from clay to foam covered in clay. This would have made the project much lighter and easier to carry.
9. I don't think I would have changed anything for this assignment. We had clear instructions on what to do. The index cards helped us on making the final product. Overall the assignment was well set up.
10. I think I deserved an A on the project. This is because I completed all the necessary assignments for the project such as the daily posts and index cards. I also worked very hard on the final product which took about six hours to make.

Entry #16

My plan today was to make a plan on the final project.
I finished my plan for the final project today.
This helps me because with the plan done, all I have to do is Finish the final project.
My next action is to finish the final project in time for exhibition night.

Entry #15

Today my plan was to make some questions that will be used on the board game.
I made a couple of questions and started planning out the layout of the game board.
This helps me because with my questions done I can now start citing the things on the game board and make the actual game board.
My next plan is to cite my question on the game board.

Entry #14

Due to some technical difficulties we occurred during the making of the movie, I have decided change the final project. I have decided to make a board game.
Today I planned the making of the game and how the game will be played.
My next plan is to start on making questions on the Normandy Invasion that will be used in the game.

Seven Questions Re-Done

Today I had to come up with an idea of my final product again due to some technical difficulties I faced while making the movie.
My research question remains the same: What kind of defense did the American soldiers face when they first stepped on the beaches of Normandy during D-Day?
This time I have chosen to make a board game.
I chose to make a board game because it will allow the player(s) to be the soldier and storm the beaches of Normandy.
The game will be on a big board that illustrates the environment of Normandy beach during the invasion. It will contain up to 5 soldier pieces in which the player(s) will control. The players will move on a designated path and draw cards that will decide their game play experience.
By making a board game I will gain knowledge and mastery of my subject. I can justify this because the cards involved in the game will contain information about the invasion and I would first need to know that information.
I have made a task breakdown of making the board game.
The first task is to gather the materials need to make the game: Army men, board, cards, markers, paper, dice, etc.
Then I can meet with my partner and start work on the actual game board.
After that we can make the cards then finish the game.
My next actions for making this game are to plan out the questions for the cards.

Status Report

So far I have started filming the actual movie . We finished filming about 1min into the movie.
I still have plenty to do for the movie. I still have to finish filming it and eventually editting it.
Filming the movie itself is a lot harder than I thought. It tooks us about a couple of hours to film the first 1min of the movie.
What has been a lot easier than I thought are making the Index Cards. Im already about 2/3 complete.
If I could start over again I would film my movie over a different topic such as the Pacific Front. This is because the D-Day topic is overused by many other students.
Before spring break I need to finish my index cards and finish filming the first half of the movie.

Entry #8

My plan was to research on my project and start on the final product.
Over the weekend I have started filming with my crew. We filmed a total of 1min into the movie.
This helps me because I have begun on my final project and made progress into it.
I plan to film more and more over the following weekends.

Third Entry (answers the seven ?s)

Today I had to come up with an idea of my final product.
I have decided to make a movie on the first hours of D-Day.
I chose to make a movie because nothing visually shows the answer to my question better than a movie.
The movie will be an estimated 15mins long. It will follow a platoon of soldiers during D-Day. It will show them landing on Normandy Beach and face against the German defences.
By making a movie I will gain knowledge and mastery of my subject. I can justify this because before making a movie I would first need to know everything about my subject.
The first steps of making the movie will be to research on the Normandy Inviasion and gather important data and pictures.
During the first few weeks I will come up with a cast and a script for the movie.
The Weeks after that would be spent taping the actual movie.
The last phase would be to edit the movie and create the final product.
Right now my next action for this project will be to create a script.

Entry #2

Today my plan was to think of an idea for my research project.
I decided to research on the very first hours of D-Day, when the American soldiers first step foot on Normandy Beach.
I came up with a question for my research: What kind of defense did the American soldiers face when they first steped on the beaches of Normandy during D-Day?
Coming up with the research question will help me gather research to answer the question.
My next action is to come up with an idea of the final product and to research.
